Congratulations to PhD students Chelsea Berry (Transregional) and Matthew Johnson (Environmental) for their recent awards:

Chelsea Berry has won the McNeil Center for Early American Studies Dissertation Fellowship for the 2018-2019 academic year. Chelsea’s dissertation is titled, “Poisoned Relations: Medicine, Sorcery, and Poison Cases in the Greater Caribbean, 1680-1850.”

Matthew Johnson has been awarded a Fulbright US grant for research in Brazil. Matt’s dissertation is titled, “Brazil’s Large Dams and the Social and Environmental Costs of Renewable Energy, 1973-1989.”
