Undergraduate Activities and Accomplishments

Department Awards

The Department bestows four awards to graduating seniors in history. The Morris Medal and the Foley Award are presented to history majors in the college. The Davids and Nevils awards are given to history majors in the School of Foreign Service.

View the awards granted to our accomplished student winners since 2004-05.

Georgetown Journal of History

In 2016 Georgetown undergraduates launched a new on-line Georgetown Journal of History; this is an entirely student-run publication, which will publish one issue every Spring.

Phi Alpha Theta

Students in our department participate every year in Phi Alpha Theta, the National History Honor Society. Georgetown’s Chapter, Beta Pi, was founded in 1948. We invite all students interested in history to learn more about Phi Alpha Theta and Beta Pi.
