Congratulations to Brian Taylor whose article "A Politics of Service: Black Northerners' Debate over Enlistment in the American Civil War" has been accepted for publication in Civil War History, and will be published in the December 2012 issue.
Congratulations to Evelyn Krache Morris who has accepted an appointment as an International Security Program Research Fellow at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
Toshi Higuchi, Georgetown PhD 2011, has been appointed an ACLS New Faculty Fellow for his project, "Radioactive Fallout, the Politics of Risk, and the Making of a Global Environmental Crisis, 1954-1963." Toshi will be taking up his appointment in the Department of History of Science at the University of Wisconsin.
And congratulations to Juan Luis Simal, an exchange student in our department in 2005-6, who has received the Miguel Artola Prize of the Asociacion de Historia Contemporanea in Spain for the best dissertation in Spanish history.
